In the 80ies the car industry learned from the Lokari Interior Mudguards idea and began to install interior mudguards on their own, now made out of plastic. New cars:

There are very big differences in the quality oft interior mudguards made by the car-producers themselves. Often they install several small pieces of plastic to cover the holes inside the wheel-house.
